I would guess they are.
I celebrated my birthday today in this excellent restaurant. I am glad to say that it was a astonishing evening and the place was definitely the reason for the strong event. The stuff collaborated in a lovely style, the food was delicious and my buddies were so thrilled. We shall absolutely visit again for more events. Thank you very much.
I told my friends about this place with my warmest recommendations. I go their often. This recommendation is always successful. The dishes they serve are flavorable and the crew is very friendly and cooperative. Every time we visit this place we pass a pleasing time. warmly recommended.
It was amazing. All of the restaurants in the food court at Mitsawa in Arlington Heights are amazing. If you have the chance or are looking for some very good Ramen or other Japanese food don't pass it up
Ramen lives up to the hype! A cool shared experience with strangers ❤️Tips: Cash only, plan on $40 for 2 hungry people. Get there before 11, line starts forming by 1045. Stay in the line to the right, next to the tables. Take a friend. The patient one of you stands in line, the other claims a table. Coats on chairs are respected. Then they can go buy fresh sushi from the grocery! If you aren't occupying all chairs, offer the extras to late comers and families. People will ask you for them anyway. No pop/fountain drinks available other than bottled Japanese drinks. Your order number will come from the loudest speaker. Not for the claustrophobic - Everyone is always friendly and happy while eating there.
This place is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. when I I need a delicious lunch, this is the place that comes instantly to my head. good and all kinds of food and a large menu.courteous staff, and pleasant atmosphere. Also important, the tariff is affordable. I sent my friends to this restaurant with pleasure.
I like this venue a lot. It has a great feeling. The kitcen is tasty. the service is powerful and the waiters are professional. The price is decent. I definitely recommend.
The meals and service were beyond our expectations. We absolutely loved the environment of this restaurant. Excellent spot to take the family out for lunch.
5 stars, 10+ years strong strong 💪🏻
Shio ramen broth is good, but I think it needed more flavors. For some reason their food taste better on weekdays(especially Wednesday) than weekends.
Absolutely hands down the best ramen in the Chicago area! I love coming here for a special meal! Lots of variety and set combinations depending on what you like and how hungry you are!
Such great food here! The ramen is outstanding and so so filling too.Pork is tender and you can really tell a lot of care and love went into then food and ingredients used.Love this place. Gotta go on a day it's not so busy, or go real early when they open!
This place is superb and spacious, the food was yummy and the prices were very inexpensive. quick, efficient service and very affable staff members. I recommend this place.
Very solid fast food ramen place. Miso and spicy Ramen are excellent. Cash only, no to-go orders allowed. Seating is very difficult for the food court inside of peak hours, so be mindful of that.
Good tasting ramen, although it is my first time doing real shop ramen, so not much experience to go on here. Prices are very steep, $11 for my bowl of spicy pork... Service was fast, ratio of noodles to broth seemed to weigh heavily in the broth direction though. Went for pizza and hour later to fill the void this left in my guts.
A rich meaty broth, noodles with a bit of bite, overall a great lunch.
The best ramen! But the service can be in the bottom, very slow and does not make sense in many ways. But, it is a typical Japanese own restaurants. They are very very rigid with the rule. I do not go this place after 11:30 am, the line will be very long.
This is the best ramen place I've ever been to.
My go to for ramen in the burbs. Cash only. Order by number to make it go quicker as long lines are expected most of the time. I highly recommend 82 - medium soy-sauce ramen with cha-shu rice bowl and egg. The noodles have a great bite to them and the broth is amazing.
I only came here for the natto bowl which was really good. Tried some of my parents' ramen which was good too.
Cash only. I ordered the spicy miso Ramen with slices of pork cheek. The Ramen broth was very rich and fatty and just spicy enough. The best part was probably the port cheeks, did the right combination meaty and fatty. It can get packed at lunchtime so plan accordingly.
Great ramen and staff is always friendly. Cash only which is a downside, but there is an ATM near the entrance of the store. Well worth the price and effort!
Best Ramen in Chicago. Great value for money too. Their broth are simply awesome: rich, smooth, smoky and flavorsome! You know how good it is when you order the simplest of all, the Shio Ramen (shio=salt) and the broth simply shines on its own. So good we never try any other food in Mitsuwa, cause we can't resist Santouka's Ramen. The spicy ramen is also good, when you feel like some kick and when its cold outside!Be ready for the queue though, sometimes the queue can get as long as 30 minutes.
Affordable, fast customized bowls of ramen served from a counter inside The Mitsuwa Market. Broth is full-bodied and rich, noodles are perfectly chewy, and meat and toppings compliment overall. My go-to ramen in the area. Lines may be long and seatin is limited during busy times during the day but worth it!
I often take my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I go their often. This recommendation is always successful. The meals are flavorable and the crew is welcoming and cooperative. Whenever we visit this place we pass a pleasing time. highly recommended.
I like to go with friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I go their often. This recommendation is always successful. The meals are tasty and the team is efficient and cooperative. Every time we visit this place we enjoy a pleasing evening. warmly recommended.
Growing up in NJ, I treated every trip to my local Mitsuwa as a full-on experience (probably the closest thing to actually visiting Japan IMO). A trip is never complete without a stop at Santouka ramen. Miso/Spicy Miso is always my go-to, and it is by far my favorite "fast-food" style ramen. The egg noodles are always perfectly cooked, very firm and chewy. The consistency of the broth is thick and multi-dimensional. You can certainly taste both the miso and the pork. I always love it when the split among broth, meat, and noodles are just right so that you can finish them all at the same time and not waste any of the delicious broth. Finally, I actually prefer the version here in IL because the miso ramen is not as salty as the one I have in NJ. My only gripe is the cash only policy and the extremely long wait during weekend.
YOURE DUMB IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS PLACE
Went early but look at the line at 11:05am haha... good ramen..belly was good...will always go back.
The spicy ramen is so satisfying, particularly on a cold Chicago winter day! It's totally worth the drive to Elk Grove!
The ramen is right on the money. Getting the large bowl will probably be too much to eat for anyone but a competitive eater, which is a shame because I don't think anyone looking to get real ramen ever wants to stop eating it. Unfortunately the atmosphere is that of a cafeteria, clean but Spartan.
From the first moment you step in this restaurant the personel give you a nice feeling. Very friendly team, it is a nice restaurant to enjoy with your friends or with your date. Excellent cooking, experienced chef de cuisine, comfortable pay and attentive service. Highly recommended.
This restaurant provides first-rate service as well as delightful food. The best place around here. The drinks and food served quick and the rates are affordable. Recommended.
Had a awesome experience in here with my girlfriend. The food comes fast and the customer service is just awesome. Prices are affordable.
Best ramen ever in North America, period. Originally thought it is a standalone ramen shop but apparently it is also opened in other places including the one in Toronto. Ramen is kinda of salty but is very tasty. Can’t remember how many times I have visited this ramen store and it is alway my top 1 no matter how many ramens I have tried in other places around the US and Canada!
Out of this world ramen in the middle of the suburbs. Outstanding.
I honestly enjoyed the food and service, awesome area to my house. The employees are always super nice. Will visit here again.
I don't even bother to eat ramen in the city--I drive the several miles to enjoy it here because it's delicious. The rice is also authentic (because sometimes places offer cheaper quality, assuming we won't know the difference). I've even been here with Asian people and they agree that it's good. That's why there's often a long line. Worth the trip.
This is my favorite ramen place! The wait might be a little long depending on when you go, but it is so worth it. I normally order the spicy miso ramen combo with a bowl of pork rice. It is delicious!😋
The best ramen ever! From the broth to the noodles and spice. Everything was absolutely perfect. Negatives: There was a 30 minute wait, they only accept cash, and seating is very limited. Other than that I will be back asap!
I love their spicy ramen miso soup. What I did not like was they only accept cash 💵. The soup was served really hot and yummy.
Santouka has been proudly serving authentic (albeit, traditionally fast-food) ramen long before the current ramen hype that's swept across the country. Personally, they continue to be the benchmark to judge all other bowls. Give it a try, and you'll see what I mean. There are better bowls out there, but none are as indicative of what a bowl of ramen is all about.
Awesome food portion is great flavor as well!! Found our family spot. Energy is also great very friendly. You pay for what you get!! 100% recommend♥️♥️
Fantastic Ramen, some of the best in Chicago. Go early for lunch or dinner as it gets really busy.
Wonderful ambience and super personal service. The menu was crisp and delightful. Will easily recommend this spot to others. Reasonable prices and large meals. Great work.
Delicious Ramen... Only 5 or 6 types of ramen on the menu, but they do them very well. Spicy Miso is delicious!
So good! I got the small spicy miso ramen.
Super good ramen! They only accept cash and have bottled teas. Next time I'm in the area, I'm definitely going back
Always have my usual ramen set ($13.95before tax) here when shopping at Mitsuwa Marketplace - it's a rich spicy miso ramen, salmon + roe on rice, and soy egg. Perfect for winter, or really any time! Remember to bring cash (no cards!), and you're golden.
This is literally a taste of Japan and the noodles bring me back to Japan when I was growing up as a Navy brat when my father was stationed there from '80-'87.Always serving up fresh tasty bowls at reasonable prices and make sure you bring cash.
Decent spicy miso ramen, within the USA. However, the best can be found in the Dotonburi District of Osaka JAPAN.
